I love checking make-up blogs and reading magazines for beauty/wellness advice that I can condense and pass on to you. Scroll to the bottom of this page you’ll see a blogroll with my favorite blogs and websites. Here I break down my current top 3 beauty blogs, but I really love all on my list.
1. Make-up Geek

Marlena is amazing – she has tons of great tips and make-up application tutorials. I will say I think she is a bit heavy handed with the eye make-up – especially for daytime looks, but you can take her advice and use softer colors and less shimmer. One thing I really like about Marlena is that she uses high end products but often suggests drugstore alternatives or will do entire tutorials using NYX or other inexpensive brands.
2. Lollipop26

Laura is a sassy Brit whose self-deprecating humor is refreshing on a beauty blog. She also does video tutorials on youtube. In addition to her make-up advice and reviews, I like her overall style. She always looks chic and gorgeous. Laura is the queen of the smokey eye/nude lip combo.
3. Pursebuzz

I recently discovered pursebuzz and love that she not only gives beauty advice and reviews, (on a mix of high end and inexpensive products), she also does beautiful hair tutorials.
4. Honorable mention:

Belledujour reminds me of an American Lollipop26 – a chic gal with great advice.
Sephora Brand Lip Gloss – Ick
I’ve tried a few tubes of Sephora brand lip gloss and have been disappointed each time. The photo is Precious Pink but like most of their glosses, it goes on very clear. I would expect at least a hint of the color that the tube indicates. It’s sticky and tacky, but most lip glosses are so this isn’t my complaint. I’m grossed out by the chemical-y taste. If Drano had a lip gloss line, I’d imagine it would taste like Sephora brand glosses.

Do you like Lauren Luke (panacea81 on YouTube)? Her tips were so entertaining that she now has her own make up line (I think Sephora invested in it?) and she is often on TV here. I have her Vintage Glams palette and I love it!
I’ve never heard of Lauren Luke – but I’ll have to look her up – thanks!
GAH! I just looked on Google and somebody else is using her name to do the same thing! Another British make up “artist”. FAIL! Anyway, here is the real one – http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dvodbogykWc
have you tried the “beauty rush” lip glosses by victoria’s secret? i’m guessing you have, as a lip gloss fiend =) but in the off-chance you haven’t, they’re one of my favorite lip glosses (second to neutrogena moistureshine). they have good color (especially cherry bomb and chocolate) and taste great too.
